MANILA, Philippines – A security escort allegedly ran amok in the agency he was employed with on Saturday morning in Quezon City.
Security escort-driver Orland Ventura was subsequently arrested by elements of the Quezon City Police District. He is now detained at the QCPD Station 7.
Ventura was employed with Readyman Incorporated along 15th Avenue in Cubao, Quezon City.
Co-worker Reynaldo Catapang earlier told dzMM that Ventura got angry after he was fired from work.
The suspect allegedly grabbed a shotgun, fired a shot, and then entered a parked white Toyota Innova vehicle.
After his arrest, a man believed to be one of the agency’s officials talked to media.
Ni-relieve lang for investigation. Nag-AWOL lang siya,” the unidentified man said.
For his part, Ventura denied firing the first shot. He claimed that he only fired back after a certain “Cantos”, an officer in the agency, shot him during an argument inside the vehicle.
He said the incident started when he asked the agency for a cash advance for his child’s enrollment.
Isang araw,” Ventura said.
Ventura is poised to file a counter complaint, police said. Reports from Dexter Ganibe and David Oro, dzMM
