MANILA - A passenger bound for China collapsed while on queue at the check-in counter of AirAsia at the old domestic airport terminal 4.

Passenger Samson Alcantara, 79, lost consciousness, causing his head to hit the floor.

The airport medical team noted the high sugar level of Alcantara, who also suffered a lacerated head.

He was rushed to San Juan De Dios Hospital.

Last May 15, a departing passenger collapsed on the floor at the immigration counter of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 due to heat.

Angelita Baroso said she could no longer bear the extreme heat, which was aggravated by the long queues at the immigration departure area. -- By Raoul Esperas
