Lineman shot while removing illegal connections

MANILA – A lineman was shot while removing illegal power connections in Port Area, Manila on Friday morning.

Police said Manila Electric Co. (Meralco) contractual lineman Jovelyn Salazar Jamile was removing illegal power connections at a post at the corner of 13th and Roberto Oca Streets when he was shot by an unidentified gunman.

Jamile fell off the post after sustaining a gunshot wound on his arm. He was brought to Manila Doctors Hospital for treatment.

Police scoured the area but failed to find the gunman. – report from Noel Alamar, dzMM
