MANILA – Two people were found dead inside a house in Quezon City before dawn on Friday.
The victims, whose names are being withheld, were found dead inside their apartment in Barangay Roxas at around 3:30 a.m.
Neighbors said they heard at least three loud thuds coming from the apartment at around 2 a.m.
When authorities arrived at the scene, they found the victims' bodies. Beside them was a .45-caliber pistol.
Investigators said the female victim sustained a gunshot wound on her temple, while the male victim had a bullet exit wound at the back of his head, suggesting that the gun was fired inside his mouth.
The couple's distraught 4-year-old son was found inside the apartment's room by authorities.
The female victim was reported to have arrived in the Philippines from Dubai last May 15 and was supposed to leave the country tomorrow.
The male victim, on the other hand, was an overseas Filipino worker in Japan.
A neighbor of the couple told the radio dzMM that the couple seemed to have fidelity issues and had already broken up.
It was not yet clear, however, what exactly transpired inside the house that resulted in the couple's death. – reports from Johnson Manabat, dzMM; and Carolyn Bonquin, ABS-CBN News
