Man on vacation killed in Makati grenade blast

MANILA (2ND UPDATE) - Two people were killed and two others were hurt when a grenade exploded in Teachers Compound, Lawton-Kalayaan in West Rembo, Makati City Tuesday morning.

The fatalities were identified as Joseph Teodones, who had been vacationing from Davao City, and Perla Duwe, a vendor.

Teodones was killed on the spot while Duwe died while being treated at the Ospital ng Makati.

The injured were identified as vendor Ellen De Ocampo and a certain "Butchoy," who was reportedly the target of the attack.

Police said an unidentified male wearing a balaclava had threatened Butchoy before throwing the grenade at him.

Teodones was talking with Butchoy when the grenade was thrown.

Authorities are looking at a personal conflict as the motive for the attack. -- With report from Zhander Cayabyab, dzMM
