MANILA - The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will implement a one-day modified truck ban scheme along Roxas Boulevard and Osmena Highway on Thursday, May 22, in view of the upcoming 23rd World Economic Forum (WEF) on East Asia.

The MMDA said the truck ban hours along the two major roads on Thursday will be from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 11 p.m.

The regular truck ban hours, which are from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., will be implemented again the next day, May 23.

"We would only like to assure the efficient mobility of the WEF delegates in our major thoroughfares, especially in Makati and Pasay areas where the forum's major events will take place," MMDA Chairman Francis Tolentino said.

The WEF on East Asia will be held from May 21 to 23 in different venues in Makati and Pasay.

According to Tolentino, the WEF will be an important platform to showcase Metro Manila and the Philippines as a viable economic, financial, and investment hub for foreign visitors.
