Separate fires hit garment factory, residential building

MANILA - Fire razed a garment factory in Industrial Road corner San Francisco Street in Karuhatan, Valenzuela City on Saturday morning.

Authorities said about 90 percent of the building of the Mega Fields Garments was razed by the fire, which started at around 7 a.m.

Most of the employees who were staying inside the building were not able to salvage their properties.

The blaze was declared out at 8:33 a.m.

Meanwhile, fire also gutted a two-storey residential building in Old Sta. Mesa Street corner V. Mapa in Sta. Mesa, Manila, leaving P1 million worth of properties damaged.

The fire reached the fourth alarm before it was put out at 4:40 a.m.

No one was reported injured in both fire incidents.
