MANILA -- The Department of Public Works and Highways is confident they will finish their elevation and drainage project along España Boulevard on or before the July 15 deadline.
Work is being done 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
So far, traffic is relatively light but they expect it to worsen when the school opening nears. Some schools shifted the start of classes to August, but not all colleges made changes in their academic year.
"Pasensya na pero para sa kanila rin ito," said Engr. Rosauro Gulapa of DPWH NCR.
Road signs can be seen along España advising motorists about the project. The signs also inform them about alternative routes they can take.
Motorists have mixed reactions on the timing of the project.
The DPWH also hinted that another project, the España flyover, will start this year.
