MANILA - The Metro Rail Transit (MRT) will no longer deploy express trains in the afternoon, according to the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC).
No reason, however, was given.
Express runs in the morning will continue until May 20, the DOTC said.
The express trains run southbound from North Avenue to Taft Avenue from 7 to 9 a.m.
Under the scheme, the express trains pick up passengers in Quezon Avenue, Kamuning and Cubao stations, and unload them in Buendia, Ayala, Magallanes and Taft Avenue stations.
The experimental run of the scheme started last May 7 in a bid to cut the long queues at the MRT during rush hours.
