MANILA - The commander of the police community precinct (PCP) in Fairview, Quezon City has been relieved of his post following a shooting spree that left 7 people dead last Sunday.
According to Quezon City Police District (QCPD) station 5 commander Police Supt. Dennis de Leon, PCP commander Police Chief Insp. Ramon Cabili failed to ensure peace and order in his area of jurisdiction.
Cabili heads the police precinct that has jurisdiction over the area where the shooting spree occurred.
Cabili will be temporarily assigned to the QCPD station 5 administrative holding office pending investigation, de Leon said.
He will be replaced by QCPD station 5 deputy commander Chief Insp. Roldante Sarmiento.
QCPD director Chief Supt. Richard Albano had said investigators are looking into the connection between the shooting spree and the police's recent operations against illegal drugs in the city.
Albano said there is a possibility that the motorcycle-riding gunmen who were tagged in the killing of 4 of the 7 people were high on drugs. -- Report from Robert Mano, dzMM
