MANILA – Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista on Tuesday said he believes the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) is not working hard enough to prevent crimes from happening in the city.
Bautista issued this statement following a shooting spree in the city last Sunday that left seven people dead.
Police investigators suspect that two motorcycle-riding gunmen were behind the killing of four of the victims.
''I'm not really happy about what happened,'' Bautista told dzMM. ''Eh ngayon parang nag-rerelax relax na naman ang QCPD."
Bautista added the city government is not lacking in its support for the city's police force.
''Utos namin sa Quezon City Peace and Order Council eh mag-operation bakal sa mga bahay,'' Bautista said.
''Mga sasakyan we gave them… Pero parang kulang pa rin ang drive ng QCPD."
Bautista said he hopes that the city's peace and order problem will be solved soon, as his administration tries to promote the city as a tourist and investment destination.
