MANILA (2nd UPDATE) -- Fire hit a residential building at Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City on Monday night.
The fire razed 6 rooms of the 2-storey building, authorities said.
The building is used by personnel assigned at the camp.
The fire started at 7:45 p.m., and reached fourth alert level around 9 p.m.
It took 2 hours for firefighters to put out the blaze.
Five families were rendered homeless. No one was hurt in the incident.
Authorities are still trying to determine the amount of damage to caused by the fire, as well as what caused it.
Camp Bagong Diwa hosts the Metro Manila police headquarters, a maximum-security prison, and drug rehab centers.
The Camp Bagong Diwa prison holds high-value inmates such as convicted Abu Sayyaf terrorists.
