Claudine urged to respect airport personnel
MANILA, Philippines – The mother of one of the airline workers confronted by Claudine Barretto on Saturday urged the actress to be calm and respectful when addressing airport personnel.
Rosario Ilagan, mother of Cebu Pacific ground attendant Kristine Ann Ilagan, expressed dismay when she heard that her daughter was verbally abused by the actress last week at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3.
Barretto reportedly badmouthed the younger Ilagan and another airline worker, Charisse Bocboc, over offloaded luggage.
The incident led to the infamous airport scuffle between Barretto’s husband, Raymart Santiago, and newspaper columnist Mon Tulfo.
“Sana naman ‘wag naman agad ganun na nagmumura. 'Di pa naman nila agad alam ‘yung nangyayari [sa baggage]… Sana naman kausapin nila ‘yung mga attendants ng maayos, pwede naman ‘yun,” said Rosario in an interview on radio dzMM.
“Siyempre, hindi mawawala sa amin ‘yung masaktan dahil anak namin ‘yun,” she added.
Rosario said she was surprised when news of the incident reached her.
She, however, said her daughter was able to cope and still reported to work after the commotion.
“Sinasabi ko na nga lang na kasama ‘yun sa trabaho,” said Rosario.
Bocboc's parents threatened to file charges against Barretto for her behavior.
Bocboc reportedly went home crying after the incident. She didn't report to work 4 days.
