MANILA, Philippines – A tricycle driver was in critical condition after being shot by an unidentified gunman in M.H. Del Pilar St., Palatiw, Pasig Tuesday night.
Victim Erwin Bartolome had just stepped out of his house in M.H. Del Pilar St. when he was shot, said his grandfather Alejandro Bartolome.
The stretch of M.H. Del Pilar St. is monitored by closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras and the incident was captured on video.
Authorities said the gunman was wearing a white T-shirt and a pair of black pants.
However, the footage showed that the suspect ran away from the cameras after the incident, which made it difficult for the police to identify him.
Investigations also showed that the suspect possibly studied the position of the cameras prior to the shooting,
“Posible, kasi tumakbo siya kung saan hindi na hagip ng CCTV. Pumarada din siya sa area na hindi nakikita ng CCTV,” said Barangay Captain Palatiw, Pasig Bobot Guevarra.
Police said Bartolome was shot in the head and neck.
Motive for the shooting has yet to be determined by authorities. -- Report from Jacque Manabat, ABS-CBN News
