MANILA, Philippines - Construction workers dug up two World War 2 bombs along 11th Street, Barangay Damayang Lagi, Quezon City about 9 a.m. Thursday.

Worker Sonny Malaca unearthed a 70mm mortar shell and another explosive during excavation.

The Quezon City bomb squad disposal team brought the explosives to headquarters for proper disposal.

Kagawad Boy Chua reminded workers in the area to be extra careful in the digging since the 1,000 square-meter lot was allegedly a World War II headquarters of the Americans.

He said a set of old explosives was also recovered in another construction site 2 years ago.
