MANILA – An overseas Filipino worker (OFW) on vacation was shot dead in Sampaloc, Manila Friday morning.
Diosdado Villegas, 51, was pronounced dead on arrival at the University of the East Ramon Magsaysay (UERM) Memorial Medical Center after he was shot by motorcycle-riding suspects.
Witnesses said the victim was watering his plants in front of his house along Leyte Street in Balic-Balic when the shooting occurred.
They said the suspects' motorcycle's plate number was 3794 IT.
The victim was supposed to go back tomorrow to Hawaii where he works in a hotel.
Villegas' wife, Aurora, said she has no idea who could be behind the killing, saying her husband only arrived in Manila last April 10 for a vacation. – report from Noel Alamar, dzMM
