MANILA – A woman and her 6-month-old baby, who were abducted from their home last Monday, were found by authorities wandering the streets of Quiapo on Thursday.

Members of the Manila Police District immediately took the woman, identified as Karima Sarip, 32, and her baby to the MPD Headquarters.

The kidnappers, it was learned, left the woman and the baby there before the police found them.

Sarip told police that on Monday, three armed men barged into their home looking for her husband, who remains unidentified. Her husband managed to hide, so the suspects instead took Sarip and the baby.

The suspects blindfolded Sarip and brought her to Cavite where she and the baby were locked up in a house.

Supt. Dennis Wagas, chief of the General Assignments Division of the MPD, revealed that negotiations were made for the release of the two victims.

Wagas said they will continue with their investigation to identify and arrest the suspects, who will the charged with kidnap-for-ransom although it was not really clear what they wanted from Sarip’s husband. – From a report by Jasmin Romero, ABS-CBN News
