MANILA -- A truck slammed into a car showroom along Quezon Avenue after its driver fell asleep early morning on Wednesday.
According to the security guard of the showroom of Chevrolet, he was at the locker area when he heard a loud rumble at 4:25 a.m.
Upon checking outside, he saw that the showroom's glass walls were shattered. One vehicle on display was also damaged.
The driver of the truck, identified as Rico Sinampan, admitted that he fell asleep while driving, causing him to slam into the showroom's glass walls.
He said he was bound for A. Bonifacio Avenue after a delivery in Antipolo.
Sinampan sustained injuries in the incident. The front portion of his truck was also heavily damaged.
A passenger jeepney, meanwhile, was also sideswiped by the truck.
The jeepney driver said five of his passengers sustained minor injuries in the incident. -- Report from Johnson Manabat, dzMM
