Suspected NPA leader arrested in Pasig
MANILA – A ranking leader of the New People's Army (NPA) was arrested in Pasig City, authorities said Tuesday.
Combined elements from the Philippine Army's 42nd Infantry Battalion and Criminal Investigation and Detection Group arrested Sandy Malaca in Barangay Pinagbuhatan.
Malaca is also known as Kumander Jamai of the Larangan 2 of Komite Probensya Camarines Sur of the Bicol Regional Party Committee of the Communist Party of the Philippines.
Malaca was arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Noel Paulite for a double murder case.
The case was in connection with the murder of a certain Sergeant Valencia and Private Alcantara in Barangay Inoyonan in Bula, Camarines Sur on February 9, 2007. – report from Edwin Sevidal, dzMM
