2 hurt in Quezon City fire
MANILA (UPDATED) - At least 50 houses were razed, while two people were hurt in a fire on San Simon Street, Barangay Holy Spirit in Quezon City on Tuesday.
The fire started at around 6 p.m. and lasted for two hours.
According to a report from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the fire started in the second floor of a house owned by Salome Andaluz.
The fire immediately spread to houses made of light, flammable materials.
It left at least 100 families homeless.
The damage to property was estimated to be at around P750,000.
Two were hurt in the incident.
One of the victims was identified as Sherwin Canania. He was riding his motorcycle when he was sideswiped by a fire truck.
He was asked to give way to the firetruck but he failed to stop.
He sustained a leg injury.
Another unidentified female victim was brought to a hospital after she sustained wounds in her feet while running away from the fire.
