MANILA - Charges of grave threat and direct assault have been filed against the two men who hit and pointed their guns at two traffic enforcers in Barangay East Kamias, Quezon City last week.

The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) filed the charges against Den Mark Presto and Scott Ian Yu before the Quezon City Prosecutor's Office on Tuesday.

Traffic enforcers Raul Mercado, 35, and Simplicio Retirado, 60, said they are determined to pursue the case against the two suspects.

Closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera footage earlier showed Presto kicking open the door of the black Mitsubishi Montero he was driving, hitting Retirado, after they were flagged down by the traffic aides for passing through a one-way lane.

Presto then hit Retirado on the nape with his gun and also kicked Mercado before pointing his gun at Retirado.

Yu, a passenger of the Montero, also alighted from the vehicle and flashed a gun at the traffic enforcers.

The two men then boarded their vehicle and sped off. -- Report from Doland Castro, ABS-CBN News
