MANILA, Philippines – Around 500 kilos of double dead meat or “botcha” were seized by the National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS) in a raid in a public market in Divisoria, Manila early Saturday.
However, the inspectors failed to arrest the meat vendors who were able to escape.
Most of the products confiscated were pork.
According to Dr. Hector Dimaculan, a regular inspection will be conducted in markets in Manila to prevent the sale of double dead meat in the city. -- With reports from ABS-CBN News; Eric Dastas, dzMM
