PNP checking if HK nurse hurt in Pasay shooting
MANILA -- The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Sunday said it is verifying reports that a nurse from Hong Kong was hurt in a shooting incident in Pasay City on Friday evening.
According to Police Chief Supt. Ruben Theodore Sindac, chief of the PNP Public Information Office, the shooting incident transpired along Balagtas Street in Pasay City.
Two Chinese nationals were involved in the incident.
Chenli Jun was declared dead on arrival at the hospital. Zhaozhi Jun, on the other hand, was injured and is currently being treated in Manila Doctors Hospital.
"We are still investigating some information received that alleges a nurse from Hong Kong was also injured," Sindac said.
The PNP has also been directed to exert maximum effort to track and arrest the assailants.
Asked for comment on the matter, Communications Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr. said he has yet to look for more information on the incident before giving an official statement.
The Philippines and the Hong Kong government recently resolved their long-running dispute over the 2010 Manila bus hostage crisis.
