MANILA – Joint forces of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and Eastern Police District (EPD) raided a house used as a shabu laboratory in Barangay Acacia, Malabon City on Friday.

Police have arrested King John Xi, who was reportedly renting the house.

Senior Superintendent Antonio Gumiran, deputy chief for operations of the EPD, said there is a possibility that the suspect is a member of a drug syndicate.

Recovered from the lab were 100 bottles of liquid chemical, a mixer, weighing scale and drug paraphernalia.

Authorities said the shabu lab is capable of producing 10 kilos of shabu worth an estimated P50 million.

The raid was conducted after 2 Chinese, who were in possession of 400 grams of shabu, were arrested in Pasig City Thursday night. -- report from Robert Mano, dzMM
