MANILA, Philippines – Four Makati police officers allegedly involved in the killing of two Makati City fire volunteers have been relieved from their posts.

Philippine National Police Chief (PNP) Nicanor Bartolome has also ordered the filing of administrative charges against SPO3 Raul Camereon, PO2 Carmelo Tuzon, Elmandy Arconado and PO3 Christopher Abelleda.

The policemen are facing murder charges and are currently at the holding center of the National Capital Region Police Office.

Closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage showed the four policemen encountered the victims, Ronald Infante and Jenny Almanon along General Lacuna St. on April 1.

The policemen claimed they killed the two during a shootout after they were suspected of being robbers.

However, CCTV footage showed it may have been a case of mistaken identity.

The National Bureau of Investigation alleged that police may have planted evidence on the victims. -- Reports from Doland Castro, ABS-CBN News; ANC
