MANILA – An engineer and a police asset were killed in separate shooting incidents in Caloocan and Navotas.
William Velasco, a chief engineer at the Jose Reyes Memorial Medical Center, was shot dead by motorcycle-riding gunmen while he was inside a jeepney along 10th Avenue in Caloocan.
Velasco, 34, sustained two gunshot wounds in the back. His father, Wilfredo, believes his son's work had something to do with the killing.
"May nasabi siya sa akin dati na gusto na niya mag-resign dahil sa mga anomaly," Wilfredo said.
Meanwhile, a police asset, identified as Jonathan Macenas, was also shot by motorcycle-riding gunmen near a police precinct along Bangus Street in Barangay North Bay Boulevard South, Navotas City.
Witnesses said Macenas was buying prepaid cellphone credits at a store when he was shot dead. – report from Kori Quintos, ABS-CBN News
