MANILA, Philippines – A Philippine National Railways (PNR) train derailed in Muntinlupa City Tuesday morning.
Authorities said the incident occurred around 10:30 a.m. near the San Simon Compound in Barangay Cupang.
No one was injured in more than 100 passengers of the train headed to Tutuban, Manila.
PNR suspects that the hot weather may have caused the railroad bolts to get detached.
The extreme heat may have also caused the rails to slightly expand.
PNR management said it is planning to hose the railroads with water to cool them down during hot weather. -- With a report from Niko Baua, ABS-CBN News
