3 hurt in restaurant gas pipeline blast in Pasig

MANILA, Philippines – Three people were injured when a restaurant’s gas pipeline exploded in Ortigas Center in Pasig City.

Technician Ramil Guyo Mamato and his assistant, Alvin Taala, and a restaurant crew Terry Roxas sustained 3rd degree burns and are now confined at the Medical City.

Initial investigation disclosed that Mamato and Taala were just cleaning up after fixing the gas pipeline of Big Bird Chicken Inasal, a new restaurant about to open at the ground floor of the Pacific Center Building along Amethyst Street in Ortigas Center.

Police said the gas pipeline which will supply liquefied petroleum gas to the restaurant’s kitchen suddenly exploded, injuring the 3 victims.
