MANILA, Philippines – Authorities are now questioning 3 people in connection with the murder of a college professor in Caloocan City.

Police declined to reveal the names of the 3 people who were said to be close to the victim, Jose Calalung, alias CJ.

Investigators are reportedly taking their statements and fingerprints.

On Tuesday night, Calalung was found dead inside his room at Brixtonville Subdivision in Camarin, Caloocan City.

“Nakita ko pagpasok iyong katawan nakatihaya na may unan sa mukha at puro saksak. Grabe talagang wala na,” said his friend Raffy Oxales.

The 47-year-old professor bore five stab wounds, and the knife used in the crime was still stuck in his chest, reports said.

No forced entry was found. The victim’s laptop and several other items were missing from his room.

Caloocan Police Chief, Senior Superintendent Jude Santos, said authorities found fingerprints and seminal fluid at the crime scene.

“Inimbitahan na nga itong tatlo at sa forensics natin, makikita ang lead dahil may nakuhang mga seminal fluid at fingerprint sa crime scene,” said Santos.

The evidence from the crime scene will be compared with the samples taken from the 3 people invited for questioning.

Calalung lived alone in his room. He was described as a happy person and would always invite friends to his room. -- report from Gus Abelgas, ABS-CBN News
