MANILA, Philippines – Minimum wage earners in Region 4A or Southern Tagalog will receive a P2 to P90 wage increase.
“Mainit na mainit pa ito. Ngayon lang pipirmahan ni secretary yung implementing rules,” Executive Director Ciriaco Lagunzad III of the National Wages and Productivity Commission under the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) told dzMM on Friday morning.
Lagunzad said workers, particularly those employed in industrial zones in Laguna, Cavite and Batangas, will benefit from the wage increase.
“Saka mayroon silang tinatawag na productivity-based allowance, mayroon silang P12.50.
Aside from Region 4A, Lagunzad said there will also be minimum wage rates increase for workers in five other regions namely Region 2 (Cagayan Valley), Region 5 (Bicol), Region 6 (Western Visayas), Region 11 (Davao) and Region 12 (Soccsksargen).
He also explained that they received word that workers in the National Capital Region will soon enjoy a wage increase before the end of May.
-- With DZMM
