MANILA -- Makati City Mayor Jejomar Erwin Binay on Thursday gave the assurance that they will comply with the requirements for the special permit asked by the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) for its free shuttle service.
The LTFRB earlier sent a letter to the office of Makati City Mayor Jejomar "Junjun" Binay Jr. asking him to submit all documentary requirements for the permit.
In his statement, Binay said they are already preparing some of the requirements.
The mayor, however, added that some of the requirements asked by LTFRB does not apply to their service, as they are not a private company.
"The only thing is that the pro forma application sent by LTFRB is for out of line operation which is not applicable to us since we are not a private company. We would like to be clarified on this matter."
Binay explained that they will cooperate with the LTFRB as the free shuttle service is highly beneficial to the riding public affected by long lines at the Metro Rail Transit (MRT) system.
LTFRB Chairman Winston Ginez earlier said the LTFRB supports Makati's program and assured that the agency will act swiftly in case the city government moves to submit the required documents for the application for a special permit.
