MANILA, Philippines - The country continues to simmer amid the summer season as the hottest temperature so far this year in Metro Manila was recorded on Tuesday.
Thermometer readings at the Science Garden in Quezon City climbed to 36.2 degrees Celsius at around 2:10 p.m., state weather bureau PAGASA said.
PAGASA expects the temperature to continue climbing in the next 3 to 5 days because of a high-pressure ridge over Luzon.
The hottest temperature in Quezon City reached 36.5 degrees Celsius last year.
PAGASA did not disclose temperature readings for other parts of the country. - report from Willard Cheng, ABS-CBN News
