Fire guts surplus shops in Manila
MANILA – A fire hit a commercial-residential area in Port Area, Manila on Monday morning.
The Manila fire department said the fire hit at least eight structures, including surplus appliances shops, at around 11:30 a.m.
The fire lasted for about an hour.
No one was reported wounded in the blaze, which reached the third (out of five) alarm.
Clearing operations were underway as fire investigators continued to determine the cause of the fire.
The Manila Traffic Bureau office and a Philippine Red Cross warehouse which were adjacent to the shops were immediately evacuated. – reports from Noel Alamar, dzMM; and Jeff Canoy, ABS-CBN News
