MANILA, Philippines – A man was arrested by police on Wednesday after he was accused of raping his live-in partner’s 2 children, who were both minors.
The suspect, identified as Bernardino Jimenez, allegedly raped the two children of “Maria” (not her real name), aged 10 years old and 13 years old.
Police said Maria met the suspect during her visits to her ex-husband, who is also in jail.
When Jimenez was released, he and Maria lived together in Manila.
Maria said she does not believe her daughters' accusations.
"Hindi po ako naniniwala," she said.
The suspect is in the custody of police and will face charges of rape and acts of lasciviousness.
He has denied the allegations against him. -- Report from Jeff Canoy, ABS-CBN News
