300 families lose homes to QC fire

MANILA, Philippines – Around 300 families lost their homes due to a fire that hit a residential area in Barangay Tatalon, Quezon City early Thursday.

Supt. Jesus Fernandez of the Quezon City fire bureau said the fire started at 4:43 a.m. at the home of a certain Belen Pante.

The fire was placed under control at 6:33 a.m.

Her son, Jerome, told authorities that he noticed the fire at the third floor, where cable wires are located.

Authorities suspect that faulty electrical wiring caused the fire.

An estimated P2 million worth of belongings and infrastructure was lost in the incident.
