MANILA – A police officer was arrested after he allegedly beat up a driver in Cubao, Quezon City early Wednesday, reports said.
Based on reports, tricycle driver Charlie Justisa, 22, of Tacloban was allegedly mauled by one SPO1 Renato Moreno, assigned at Camp Crame, in front of a KTV bar in Cubao.
According to the driver, Moreno and two of his companions alleged that he took his car keys. Justisa said he denied taking the keys but Moreno still mauled him.
"Sinakal po ako tapos pinagsusuntok ako sa likod... Magkakaso po ako," Justisa said.
The mauling incident was witnessed by other tricycle drivers. One of them, identified only as “Jam” was also threatened by the suspect and his friends. Moreno even took a picture of Jam, it was learned.
"Sabi babarilin daw kami... Gusto namin maalis siya sa trabaho," Jam said.
The police officer refused to comment. His two cohorts, meanwhile, were able to elude arrest. - From a report by Kori Quintos, ABS-CBN News
