MANILA, Philippines – Five carnapping suspects are now in the custody of Quezon City police after they were arrested in separate operations.

Quezon City Police District Station 4 commander Supt. Crisostomo Mendoza said one of the suspects, identified as Alexander Manalastas, was employed as a driver for UV Express shuttle service.

He said the suspect went missing with the shuttle van after 5 days and was caught in Caloocan for carrying an unlicensed firearm.

Manalastas then told police of the whereabouts of the stolen vehicle.

A police operation in San Mateo, Norzagaray, Bulacan where the vehicle was located led to the arrests of 4 more suspects.

The suspects were caught in the act of disassembling the vehicle’s parts.

They will face charges for violating the anti-carnapping law. -- Report from Robert Mano, dzMM
