MANILA – A man who held-up a Brazilian businessman was reportedly killed by his own cohorts in front of the Philippine Sports Commission in Pasig early Friday.
The fatality was identified as Anton Miranda, 27.
According to the businessman, who requested anonymity, Miranda and his cohorts held him up as he was walking on his way home. After giving his bag to the suspects, he ran and afterwards heard gunshots.
Kagawad Grace Pua of Brgy. Orambo said the businessman immediately reported the incident to barangay officials and the police.
Meanwhile, a taxi driver claimed he saw the fatality dropped off by a red tricycle before being shot by his cohorts.
"Hinulog sya… Yung posisyon nya eh pati tsinelas mukhang set-up," Joselito Sadyangabay, taxi driver, said.
The trader confirmed to police that the bag, laptop and wallet containing cash and IDs found beside Miranda were his. Police also recovered a gun allegedly used in holding up the businessman.
