MANILA -- Another Spanish-era cannon was unearthed from a road construction site in Juan Luna Street corner Muelle dela Industria in Binondo, Manila on Friday.

According to Inspector Arnold Santos, chief of Manila Police Explosive Ordnance Disposal Section, the cannon was found by personnel of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

Backhoe operator Joffel Base said they saw the cannon while they were digging.

The cannon was bigger than the 8-foot 17th century Spanish cannons found also in the same area on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, a French-made 25mm Hotchkiss anti-aircraft machine gun, which was used by the Japanese Army during the World War II, was also discovered at Araullo High School in Taft Avenue corner United Nations Avenue in Manila. -- Report from Noel Alamar, dzMM
