Two corpses stuffed in boxes dumped in Manila

MANILA – Two corpses stuffed in boxes were found in separate locations in Manila before dawn on Friday.

Several children dragged one of the boxes they found along Dizon Street in Barangay 265 in Tondo district, thinking that it contained items which they could sell.

However, they were surprised when the male victim's foot suddenly stuck out of the box.

Residents said they a saw a white van passing by the area before the body was discovered.

Along Quirino Avenue, a man's body was also found stuffed inside a box at around 4 a.m.

Vagrants from a nearby park said they saw the man in a fetal position after they opened the box which was wrapped in packaging tape.

The unidentified man wore a black shirt and a jogging pants.

Police have yet to determine the connection between the two incidents.

Both corpses had been brought to the funeral parlor. – report from Francis Faulve, ABS-CBN News
