2 carjackers killed in Makati

MANILA, Philippines – Two motorcycle-riding men who attempted to carjack a truck in Makati were shot dead on Sunday night.

Police Officer 3 Ronaldo Villaranda of Makati Police said the two unidentified suspects attempted to seize the contents of a delivery truck from driver “Ken”.

Ken said he ran the carjackers over after the latter pointed a gun on him while on the road.

“Umabante sila biglang tinutukan ako ng baril in-anticipate ko kaya sinagasaan ko sila noong natumba sila akala ko ok na pero binilisan ko humarurot na ako,” Ken said.

Ken rammed a road center island along South Superhighway while escaping from the suspects. He then called the help of the police from a nearby gasoline station.

The suspects were eventually shot dead along Lacuña street in Barangay Bangkal after an exchange of fire.

The police recovered a 45-caliber pistol and a 9 millimeter pistol from the slain suspects. – report from Bettina Magsaysay, ABS-CBN News
