MANILA, Philippines - Malacanang on Tuesday assured the public that the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) is working to ease the plight of motorists, who were hit with another round of price hikes for gasoline and diesel.

The government implemented the Pantawid Pasada Program in May 2011, as an interim measure to cushion the impact of high fuel prices particularly to the public utility jeepneys.

Coloma also appeared cool to a proposal in Congress to suspend the value added tax on oil.
