MANILA - Water interruptions shall take place in key areas during the Holy Week, due to a flood control project that the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will be conducting.
Service interruptions shall affect parts of Imus, Kawit, Makati, Malabon, Manila, Navotas, Pasay, South Caloocan, and the whole of Bacoor, Cavite City, Las Piñas, Muntinlupa, Noveleta and Parañaque.
This will cause one to three days of interruptions between Holy Wednesday (April 16) to Black Saturday (April 19).
The DPWH project was designed to address flooding problems in Manila.
An interceptor drainage box culvert (DBC) shall be constructed along Blumentritt St., and shall traverse the water pipe of Maynilad Water Services, Inc. (Maynilad) along Juan Luna St. corner Hermosa St.
Maynilad was permitted to undertake the pipe realignment activity during the Holy Week since fewer customers will be at home.
Alternate service interruptions will be implemented in certain areas to allow customers to restock on water supply.
Maynilad said that customers should store water before the date of interruption in their area, and to clean tanks before using for storing water supply.
