MANILA – A man was rushed to a hospital Thursday morning after he was shot by riding-in-tandem gunmen in Quezon City.
The victim, Ramon Mallari Jr., was shot in the body and arm near his home in Masambong, Quezon City at around 8 a.m.
Witnesses said one of the suspects casually approached Mallari and shot him while he was planning Holy Week activities with the neighbors.
The unidentified suspect then stole the victim's necklace and bracelet, estimated to be worth around P100,000, before escaping.
Mallari’s neighbors brought him to the St. Luke’s Medical Center in E. Rodriguez.
Mallari's neighbors said the incident was shocking because Mallari is known in the area to be a well-loved person with a generous heart, but is always seen wearing expensive jewelry.
Initial police reports indicate that robbery may have been the motive behind the incident. Investigations were still ongoing, as of posting. -- Report from Jasmin Romero, ABS-CBN News
