Bus firm in SLEX mishap ordered to cease operations

MANILA - The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board on Thursday ordered the cancellation of the franchise of a bus company whose unit figured in an accident along South Luzon Expressway in Laguna last Monday.

The LTFRB said all 23 units of Southern Carrier bus will no longer be allowed to ply the Batangas-Manila route.

It ordered Southern Carrier to cease operations starting tomorrow.

At least 45 people were hurt during Monday's accident at the SLEX. One woman lost her right hand during the accident.
