MANILA - President Aquino on Wednesday assured students of the Philippine Science High School the campus will not be moved from Agham Road in Quezon City.
In his address to the graduating class, the President pledged government's continued assistance to the school, saying plans to have Philippine Science campuses in the country's 16 regions will become a reality before the end of his term.
He said even Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista will oppose plans to transfer the country's premiere high school to a different location.
"Alam kong may agam-agam tunggkol sa pagbalitang paglilipat ng inyong campus. Ako na mismo ang magsasabi sa inyo, mananatili ang Philippine Science sa Agham Road. Si (Quezon City) Mayor Herbert (Bautista) ang unang tututol," he said.
The President led the presentation of medals to 82 distinguished students including his niece, Jacinta Patricia, daughter of his sister, Viel Aquino Dee.
Aquino also touted some PSHS alumni who are now part of his official family including Miriam Coronel-Ferrer, head of government's negotiating panel with the Moro Islamic Liberation Front.
