MANILA - Despite the holidays, some parts of EDSA southbound experienced moderate to heavy traffic on Friday afternoon due to the road repair projects of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
The road repairs took advantage of the low volume of traffic plying Metro Manila's main thoroughfare.
Affected on the southbound lane is EDSA-Connecticut to Boni Avenue, and Madison to Ortigas Avenue on the northbound lane.
The DPWH advises motorists to use alternate routes to avoid any inconvenience.
For those heading south, Connecticut Street, San Juan-Santolan Road and Mandaluyong Bridge may be used as alternate routes.
Pioneer Street to Shaw Boulevard may be taken by those heading north.
The road repairs began early morning Thursday and are expected to be finished by 2 a.m. on Easter Sunday.
