MANILA - The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) will investigate the franchise of the bus company involved in Monday's accident on the South Luzon Expressway (SLEx).

In an interview with DZMM, LTFRB Chairman Winston Ginez said they will release an update on the investigation today.

Initial investigation showed there were no problems with the bus company's documents.

"Hahalungkatin namin ang records dito ngayon para makita kung may problema ba [ang bus] noong nakaraan o dito sa prangkisa niya."

Ginez said the Highway Patrol Group in Calamba City is in the process of completing the police investigation report.

The agency will investigate allegations that the bus was a colorum unit, after a "RRCG Bus" marking was found on its rear portion.

Ginez also said that the bus company should shoulder all the victims' medical expenses.

"Dapat nilang asikasuhin at dapat nilang bigyan ng tulong na financial lalong-lalo na 'yung mga nandun pa ho sa ospital," he said.

Among those seriously injured is Almarie Camson who lost a hand in the accident. -- report from DZMM
