2 joggers hit by car in Makati-Mandaluyong bridge

MANILA, Philippines – Siblings Vincent Simon and Catherine May Tan sustained injuries when they were hit by a speeding car while jogging at the Mandaluyong-Makati Bridge past 6:00 a.m. Sunday.

SPO1 Richard Bumacas said the gold Honda Civic was attempting to overtake a tricycle and when it braked, the car’s back part slammed into the Tan siblings.

Owen Pueda, who witnessed the incident, said the car’s plate number was UUE 233. Authorities are now looking for the vehicle.

Vincent Simon collapsed, while Catherine May was thrown off the bridge.

The siblings were brought to the Mandaluyong Medical Center, where Vincent Simon was treated for injuries to his hands and left feet, while Catherine May sustained a wound to the head and bruises.
