Computer glitch disrupts MRT operations

MANILA -- Several passengers were stranded on Saturday afternoon after a malfunctioning computer system disrupted the operations of the Metro Rail Transit (MRT) Line 3.

In a text message, MRT general manager Al Vitangcol said the computer system in Taft Avenue station malfunctioned at 1:37 p.m.

"Intervention still ongoing," Vitangcol said.

Provisional service from North Avenue to Shaw Boulevard station was implemented by MRT management.

MRT has yet to resume normal operations, as of posting. -- With report from Ricky Velasco, dzMM
